Norfolk status
The UK status and distribution is insufficiently known.

Found in woodland in south-eastern England from Kent to Wiltshire and Dorset.

New for Norfolk in 2020 when a male was determined by Gen. Det. at North Elmham (D. Appleton, 11/08/2020)

Both Zimmermannia atrifrontella and Zimmermannia longicaudella mine in the bark of Oak and are indistinguishable from each other in this stage. Please record mines as the aggregate - Zimmermannia atrifrontella/longicaudella

Verification Grade Comment: mine not possible to differentiate from longicaudella

Determination by Genitalia Examination (gen. det.) Required

Mine: Moth needs to be reared and, in some cases, possibly dissected.
